Privacy

SpringChange is a small, independent app built by one person. I collect as little as possible: your email address, and the routines and notes you choose to create. I don't sell your data, I don't run ads, and I don't track you around the web.
Who's responsible for your data
SpringChange is an independent project operated by Nick Gunther in the United States. If you have any question about your data, email hello@springchange.app and it comes straight to me.
What I collect

I don't ask for your name, phone number, address, date of birth or payment details. There's no advertising or cross-site tracking on SpringChange.
Analytics
I use Vercel Web Analytics to see basic, anonymous traffic patterns — which pages get visited, and roughly where visitors come from. It helps me understand what's working and what isn't.
It's deliberately privacy-friendly: it uses no cookies and doesn't track you across other websites. Instead of an identifier, it works from a hash of the incoming request, which is discarded after 24 hours. What it records is the page you visited, where you came from, an approximate location, and your browser and device type — all aggregated, none of it tied to your account or identity.
Cookies
SpringChange uses a small number of essential cookies only — they keep you signed in as you move between pages. There are no advertising cookies, and (as above) the analytics don't use cookies either. That's why there's no consent banner to click through.
Who else can see it
I don't sell your data, and I don't share it with anyone for marketing. A handful of service providers process data on my behalf purely so the app can function:

Each of these has its own privacy policy, and each is bound to use the data only to provide their service to SpringChange.
Sharing routines with other instructors
If you share a routine with another SpringChange user, they will see the routine's contents — its blocks, moves, spring settings, timings and notes — along with the email address you share from, so they know who sent it. Only share with people you're happy to have that information.
Shared routines are read-only. Nobody else can see your library unless you deliberately share something with them.
Spotify links
SpringChange doesn't connect to your Spotify account and can't see your listening activity. If you paste a playlist link into a routine, I simply store that link as text. Opening it takes you to Spotify, where their privacy policy applies.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on servers in the United States, operated by the providers listed above. If you're using SpringChange from outside the US — including from the UK or EU — your data will be transferred to and stored in the United States.
How long I keep it
I keep your account and content for as long as your account exists. If you ask me to delete your account, I'll delete it and everything in it. Backups may persist for a short period afterwards before they're overwritten.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- Show you a copy of the data I hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your account and everything in it.
- Export your routines so you can take them elsewhere.
Email hello@springchange.app and I'll sort it out. There's no form and no runaround — it's just me. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator.
SpringChange is in early access. It's a work in progress, built in my spare time. Please don't store anything in it that you couldn't stand to lose — keep your own copy of anything important, and be aware that features (and this policy) may change as the app develops.
Children
SpringChange is intended for fitness professionals and isn't designed for children. Please don't sign up if you're under 16.
Changes to this policy
If I change how any of this works, I'll update this page and change the date at the top. If it's a significant change, I'll email you about it.
